Lauren Redman, SWI
SHE/HER
Whether you are an individual or couple seeking therapy, everyone has a relationship with sex, just like we all have a relationship with food, with money, and with all the other central themes of the modern human experience. However, sex is often the one thing no one wants to talk about, even with their therapist. On your own time, I want to help you get curious about yourself, your relationship, your history, and your patterns, and together we can move towards a fully embodied sexuality, whatever that may look like for you.
I don’t believe in pathologizing sexual behavior, so this is a safe space to explore your erotic identity– your kink is safe with me! We can talk about non-monogamy, sexual trauma, asexuality, internalized shame, being a “late bloomer” or “baby gay”, and so much more. I use a trauma-informed perspective to help individuals and couples navigate issues like infidelity, compulsive sexual behaviors (CSB), and intrusive sexual thoughts.
I am a second year graduate student at NYU specializing in clinical social work practice. Prior to starting my master's, I supported queer elders through arts and sexual health programming, and continue to volunteer with them in my spare time. I am not one to shy away from taboo topics or difficult conversations around race, gender, sexuality, and other identities; in fact, some of our most meaningful moments may come from those discussions. In our sessions, you can expect to laugh, think, feel, question. What else would you like to experience together? Reach out and let’s get started.
