SHE/HER

Headshot of Sarah Caputo, LMSW

A lot of people come to me having already tried therapy. They showed up, they talked, they did what felt like the work, but they stayed stuck. They left sessions feeling heard but not different.

Working with me is not processing your week. It's looking at the longer story, the patterns that keep showing up, and what it might feel like to do things differently.

I conduct the majority of my sessions in person in Brooklyn, and believe in the consistency of a shared physical space. While I tend to keep things IRL, telehealth is available when circumstances require it. Regardless of where we meet, I won't use AI note-taking tools.

I work best with people who feel a lot, but struggle with doubting their feelings and are ready to dig into why. My approach is direct - we won't shy away from hard conversations - but our space is welcoming, warm, and often playful and funny. I specialize in relational patterns, trauma, and identity. I'm trained in LGBTQ+ affirming care and EMDR.

If you've ever felt lonely in a room full of people, or like you're going through the motions without really feeling any of it, you're not alone in that. Some people come in not because something dramatic happened, but because life feels a little flat, a little far from themselves. If you're looking for a steady place to come back to, I'd be glad to connect.

Does this sound like what you're looking for? If so, let's chat.
