Skyler Okey, MFT-LP
SHE/HER
I see pleasure as an act of resistance, and aim to transform sex from another item on the to-do list to a transcendent and connecting force in our lives, and an opportunity for creativity, play and self-exploration. Sexual desire can be elusive–that feeling of “I want to want it” can be frustrating, and the harder we chase it, the more inaccessible it can become.
If you’re experiencing anxiety around sex or the topic has become a challenge in your relationship, I can help create a safe space for you to explore and navigate. I combine psychoeducation with an emotional approach to help untangle internalized beliefs and experiences, challenge narratives around sex, and reimagine your relationship to desire.
Beyond sex, I also work with clients on a range of issues from anxiety, depression, trauma, communication, and more. With a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, I take a systemic, intersectional approach to working with individuals, couples, and polycules that acknowledges the impact of patriarchy, compulsory sexuality, homophobia, racism, and sexism on mental and sexual health. As a bisexual-identifying cis woman, I offer LBGTQ-affirming therapy to clients across the gender and sexuality spectrum, including those in kinky and non-monogamous communities.
I’m here to help you slow down, be present, and co-cultivate sensuality and new desires.
